The Zoological Wildlife Foundation would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas! Marley and G the white handed gibbons, Gigi the Spider Monkey, Antoinette the Tufted Capuchin, Cyclone the Cougar, Leila the Squirrel Monkey, and our New Born Tiger Cub, were all a part of our Christmas Collage we made! This is a great chance to spend time with your family and have a private tour here at our facility! Here is Leila our Squirrel Monkey, ready for Christmas! Leila hangs out with “G” the baby White Handed Gibbon and they play all day. Squirrel Monkeys are some of the most commonly seen monkeys in the Central American rainforest’s, even though they are very shy and skiddish. They average about 1 foot in length, with the their tails adding on another full foot. Squirrel monkeys weigh 1.5-2.5 lbs, and are diurnal, or active during the daytime. G is a White-Handed Gibbon and Leila is a Squirrel Monkey! They get daily interaction and playtime. They have became best buddies and are very intelligent. Leila is more noisy and she will let you know when she doesn’t like something with a loud screech. G is very mellow and really enjoys swinging around! White-handed gibbons brachiate, or swing by the arms, from branch to branch horizontally and vertically. Their long, strong arms enable them to quickly change direction in flight and to catch a handhold if they fall.

Halloween is around the corner and we wanted to sum up the week with all the photos of our baby primates in their costumes! Starting from the top we have: Marley and “G” the white handed gibbon apes. G and Leila had their Halloween outfits on this past Tuesday to celebrate Halloween a little early and to show off their clothes. Although you can’t see it in the photo above, “G” was wearing a soccer jersey for the photo. “G” is a baby white-handed gibbon, and is doing very well here at ZWF.
