The Zoological Wildlife Foundation was part of a large Cinco De Mayo block party event on Saturday evening. We brought our Donkey “Pancho” to the event! Pancho definitely brought everyone into the Cinco De Mayo spriit, and I’m sure this is one Cinco De Mayo event people will not forget! Indah the Binturong is doing great at our facility! She is getting very large, and LOVES to eat bananas and apples. We took Indah out exploring today, and she loved it. Recent Video Shoot with Shanti the Tiger Cub!

Tuesday, April 24th, 2012

During a Video Shoot on 4/23/12 at Boynton Beach, FL with our Tiger Cub “Shanti” and two handlers Noberto Gonzalez & Chelsea Rekis, we had a few unexpected visitors who made the experience that much more memorable! We would like to thank the Boynton Beach Police Department for their kind words, and also their assistance and helpfulness during the shoot. We thank you for that.

- The Zoological Wildlife Foundation Team

Below are the photos and kind words that were spoken by the Boynton Beach Police!

“Meet the newest member of the @bbpd K9 Unit! Just Kidding :-) This 8-month-old golden tabby tiger (pictured here with Sgt. Wessendorf) was spotted in Boynton Beach yesterday with some people who were filming a music video. Our animal control investigator verified that the tiger’s handler was there and that they had all the proper paperwork and permits for it. The tiger was rented for the music video through the Zoological Wildlife Foundation in Miami. Not something you see every day in Boynton Beach!”

Monkeying Around!

Tuesday, April 3rd, 2012

On the Left of the photo is Marley and to the right is Sativa, and they are both White-Handed Gibbons! Today we caught them “Monkeying Around”. Also if you notice above them is a new play dome jungle gym that we recently installed in there. They really enjoy using that thing! These primates can really teach you a thing or two on how to really play on a jungle gym. In the wild, Gibbons spend most of their life in the tree-tops and swinging from branch to branch ( The term is called brachiating). To view more photos of Marley then visit Marley’s Gallery OR to view more photos of Sativa, then please visit Sativa’s Gallery.

Javi & Penelope!

Monday, April 2nd, 2012

Javi and Penelope are Red Ruffed Lemurs. They are both full grown adults. We have raised them since they were very young and they are extremely sweet animals. They are usually everyone’s favorite animal on our private tours (other than our cubs). When we have our tours, we take people inside their enclosure, and Javi and Penelope will leap into your arms! They expect you to carry them and they will lick you in return. It is a wonderful experience being around these guys, and they are truly beautiful and loving creatures. To view more updated photos of Javi & Penelope, then please visit Javi & Penelope’s Gallery.
