Lauren & Friend Interacting With Diana

Our latest visitors enjoyed a tour of our facility. They interacted with Titan, our one hundred-fourty pound  Bengal Tiger. They also interacted with Diana, our Tufted Capuchin born on June 20th.

At ZWF, we hold a strong value for the preservation of wildlife. With this in mind, we have established a private zoo for conservation purposes to educate the public about the fine line we walk everyday keeping endangered animals exisiting in our earth; Which we share with this animals.

Zoological Wildlife Foundation depends on visitors to not only enjoy some breath-taking moments, up close and personal with exotic wildlife, but also for the love and apperication of wildlife.

The Zoological Wildlife Foundation would like you to know that we are NOT a non-profit organization OR are we funded by any agency! Our income does derive from the events we do, tours at our facility, photo sessions we have, and our merchandise too!

Shower Time For Luna

Shower Time For Luna

Luna Eating Her Banana

Luna Eating Her Banana

Luna is our female Bonnet Macaque. She is three in half month old. She loves her shower time and pacifier. We started her diet with banana for the very first time, with a bottle of formula milk every four hours and soon will start eating solid foods.

The Bonnet Macaque has a very wide range of gestures and behavior which can be easily differentiated.  They do a lot of “Lip smacking” is one of the most common behavior, where one individual may open and close the mouth in rapid movement with tongue in between teeth and lips pressing against each other giving an audible sound.

She is a cutie and we enjoy every minute of her company. You are welcome to check out Luna’s Album for more pictures of her different expressions.

Baby Hairy Armadillos

Baby Hairy ArmadillosBaby Hairy Armadillos

One of our long term captive female Hairy Armadillos gave birth on Friday, July 8th, 2010 to two babies males.
They are known for having a leathery armor shell. Our female came from Paraguay. In the wild they live in grasslands, plains and steppelike areas and is an omnivore.
The carapace has eighteen strips, with eight of them being able to move, while the others are bound to each other and immobile.
Our babies have to be one of the cutest things we have had the privilege to see born at our facility.

What do you do when it’s too hot outside?

Swim with a buddy! In this case it was Titan our tiger!

We recently  put Titan in the pool for the first time, so that he can get used to swimming, and it was a very hot day here so it was a little treat for him to cool off! At first, Titan was a little cautious, and wanted nothing to do with the pool, but then as we got in and started splashing the water it really drew his attention over and he wanted to play with the water, after a little love and guidance, we gave him a little tug, and Titan was in the water! The minute he got in he LOVED it! Titan started swimming around, jumping off the steps so he can swim towards us, and at one point he even went to the deeper side with me, while he was swimming right behind me. We were so proud of Titan. Now that Titan is used to the water, we will be doing this on a usual basis. It’s great exercise too!
