Recent Video Shoot with Shanti the Tiger Cub!

Tuesday, April 24th, 2012

During a Video Shoot on 4/23/12 at Boynton Beach, FL with our Tiger Cub “Shanti” and two handlers Noberto Gonzalez & Chelsea Rekis, we had a few unexpected visitors who made the experience that much more memorable! We would like to thank the Boynton Beach Police Department for their kind words, and also their assistance and helpfulness during the shoot. We thank you for that.

- The Zoological Wildlife Foundation Team

Below are the photos and kind words that were spoken by the Boynton Beach Police!

“Meet the newest member of the @bbpd K9 Unit! Just Kidding :-) This 8-month-old golden tabby tiger (pictured here with Sgt. Wessendorf) was spotted in Boynton Beach yesterday with some people who were filming a music video. Our animal control investigator verified that the tiger’s handler was there and that they had all the proper paperwork and permits for it. The tiger was rented for the music video through the Zoological Wildlife Foundation in Miami. Not something you see every day in Boynton Beach!”

A Precious Treasure Was Born This Past Tuesday!

Thursday, April 19th, 2012

Meet Sahima! The newborn white tiger cub. Sahima is a beautiful bundle of joy. She was a surprise to all of us this past Tuesday (4/17/12) when she was born! Unfortunately, the mother rejected her, therefore we have stepped in, and she is doing amazing! What an active and alert cub she is. She is an amazing and tiny creature and we can’t wait to watch her grow. More photos of her will be coming soon.

Outcome of Earth Day at Pinecrest Gardens! 4/15/12

Tuesday, April 17th, 2012

We recently attended the “Earth Day Festival” at Pinecrest Gardens! The outcome was fantastic! We had live animal presentations, and we also had animal photo sessions! Everyone thought our animal shows were great, and we also had many people take photos with our many different animals after the show! Pinecrest gardens is a beautiful area, and the Earth Day Festival turned out very nice. Some animals we brought to the event were our capuchins, binturong, lemur, python, crocodile, tiger cub, gibbons, and a few more! To view more photos of the event then visit our Earth Day 4/15/12 Gallery.

Indah The Binturong & Ramses The Bull Terrier!

Tuesday, April 10th, 2012

Here we have Indah the Binturong, and Ramses the Bull Terrier! Indah is growing very quickly, and now she found a new playmate to play with. It’s such a cute thing to watch when they start playing with eachother. Even though Ramses the Bull Terrier is so much more larger the Indah, he still knows how to be gentle and makes sure not to hurt Indah at all. These two are sure a strange animal pair, but for now it works! Indah will continue to grow and if you would like to meet Indah in person then come by for a private tour! To view more information about the tours we offer, then please visit our tours page.

Shanti the Tiger Cub and Friends!

Tuesday, April 10th, 2012

Here we have Shanti the Golden Tabby Tiger Cub, and one of our animal handlers (Morgan), and of course the adorable and lovely Jala next to them! Shanti’s name means calm and peaceful, and it certainly suits her! Shanti is exactly that, a very calm and peaceful animal that loves to play and never complains. We work with Shanti each day and she loves to go for her outdoor walks/playtime. You can visit Shanti on a private tour here! Visit our tours page for more info.

Gizmo & Leila, Lounging Around!

Saturday, April 7th, 2012

Here are Leila, and Gizmo, the Squirrel Monkeys, just lounging around today on a sunny afternoon! To the left is Gizmo, and as you can see he was eating and enjoying a monkey biscuit, as Leila was beside him about to doze off for her afternoon nap. These two are inseparable, and both have very different personalities.  If you would like to view more photos of Leila, then please visit Leila’s Gallery.

Monkeying Around!

Tuesday, April 3rd, 2012

On the Left of the photo is Marley and to the right is Sativa, and they are both White-Handed Gibbons! Today we caught them “Monkeying Around”. Also if you notice above them is a new play dome jungle gym that we recently installed in there. They really enjoy using that thing! These primates can really teach you a thing or two on how to really play on a jungle gym. In the wild, Gibbons spend most of their life in the tree-tops and swinging from branch to branch ( The term is called brachiating). To view more photos of Marley then visit Marley’s Gallery OR to view more photos of Sativa, then please visit Sativa’s Gallery.

Sneak Attack!

Tuesday, April 3rd, 2012

Padah is our (Red Tabby) Bengal Tiger Cub. As you can see in this photo, she was very focused in on sneaking up on me and pouncing on me! Of course this is just her way of playing and is also her natural instincts of her just being a usual Big Cat. She shares a large enclosure with our other Tiger Cub “Shanti”. You can meet Padah in person on a private tour here at our facility! Check out our Tours Page for more info.

Javi & Penelope!

Monday, April 2nd, 2012

Javi and Penelope are Red Ruffed Lemurs. They are both full grown adults. We have raised them since they were very young and they are extremely sweet animals. They are usually everyone’s favorite animal on our private tours (other than our cubs). When we have our tours, we take people inside their enclosure, and Javi and Penelope will leap into your arms! They expect you to carry them and they will lick you in return. It is a wonderful experience being around these guys, and they are truly beautiful and loving creatures. To view more updated photos of Javi & Penelope, then please visit Javi & Penelope’s Gallery.

Photos to Share from Past Moroccan Event - 10/23/11

Monday, April 2nd, 2012

The Zoological Wildlife Foundation was part of a Moroccan inspired Event on October 23rd, 2011. This was a birthday celebration, as well as a celebration for cancer survival. We brought Our Tufted Capuchin (Angie), and our Young Dromedary Camel (Aladdin). Teresita, who booked us for this event, wanted to share these wonderful photos she had from the event. We made a gallery with all the photos included, and we wanted to blog the photos to share them with everyone. Thank you Teresita, we are so glad that you were happy with the outcome of the event and thank you for sharing these wonderful photos with us as well! To view the rest of the photos from this past event, then please visit the Moroccan Event 10/23/11 Gallery.
