Here is Leila our Squirrel Monkey, ready for Christmas! Leila hangs out with “G” the baby White Handed Gibbon and they play all day. Squirrel Monkeys are some of the most commonly seen monkeys in the Central American rainforest’s, even though they are very shy and skiddish. They average about 1 foot in length, with the their tails adding on another full foot. Squirrel monkeys weigh 1.5-2.5 lbs, and are diurnal, or active during the daytime. Nabha is a big girl now! Nabha is our Tiger Cub. She spends her time in an enclosure with our two lion cubs “Simba & Abu”.  Nabha is growing more and more each day! G is a White-Handed Gibbon and Leila is a Squirrel Monkey! They get daily interaction and playtime. They have became best buddies and are very intelligent. Leila is more noisy and she will let you know when she doesn’t like something with a loud screech. G is very mellow and really enjoys swinging around! If you haven’t heard, ZWF had THREE new tiger cubs born this past Tuesday! The cubs are doing great, and we are overjoyed about their arrival. Watch these three little ones grow quickly into powerful, and magnificent creatures. Keep checking back for more updates on the status of our 3 new “Christmas Cubs!”. Cylcone our Cougar Cub was enjoying his outdoor playtime, while getting into the Christmas Spirit playing with his Santa hat! Cyclone continues to grow and loves to play with one of our Caucasian Mountain Dogs, as well as a French Bulldog named Maggie! White-handed gibbons brachiate, or swing by the arms, from branch to branch horizontally and vertically. Their long, strong arms enable them to quickly change direction in flight and to catch a handhold if they fall.

Three little bundles of joy were born this morning here at ZWF. They are all doing very well and look very healthy! There is one golden tabby tiger male, and two white tiger females! We are all very excited about this. Keep checking back to see updates on how the cubs are doing! We still have yet to decide what they will be named! Maybe you can help us name them!
