Wishing everyone a Happy Holidays and a prosperous New Year.. From the Entire family of Zoological Wildlife Foundation and our Exotics animals… Thanks!
Anteater is a mammal of the suborder Vermilingua. It is a solitary animal and is also known as the anthill bear. Giant Anteaters are sometimes mistaken for bears because of their claws and bushy fur.
Aardvark is a mammal found in Africa. Aardvarks sleep during the day, and are active at night. They are nocturnal animals. If the nights are cold, sometimes they will come out in the daylight to lie in the sun and get warm. The aardvark has a long, thin, protruding tongue and elaborate structures supporting a keen sense of smell. Aardvarks are insectivores.
Sativa, our White-Handed Gibbon is with her “uncle” Munchi.
Both of them are fortunate enough to share the same birth date.
Which is on November 10th.
On the picture above you see Mario riding Salmon, one of our Dromedary Camels.
Wait.. someone forgot to give Mario his turban!!
Victoria is our latest baby White-Faced Capuchin
She was born in our facility on August 23, 2008.
Sophia, our White-Faced Capuchin Monkey, above, feeding herself.. with much patience and everyday hands-on feeding and care. Sophia has managed to learn new techniques, like holding her own bottle..
Capuchins, indeed, are a highly intelligent animal. So smart they are, they are even used for servicing humans with disabilities.
Capuchin monkeys are thought how to be the arms and legs for people who have lost the use of theirs. The monkeys are trained to do things like take food from the refrigerator and heat it up in the microwave. etc..
On April 21st, we were honored with the visit of a great actor, Thomas Mikal Ford.
He has starred and co-starred in several movies and television shows. He is most known for his part on the sitcom “Martin” and crime drama “New York Undercover”.
He has been here with one of our old friends and volunteers.
Its been 38 years, Melchor, Baltazar and Gaspar have been parading down 8th street. Maintaining alive the Hispanic tradition. Thrilling children and adults equally during the “Three King’s Parade”.
We were honored to be a part of the Hispanic Tradition.
If your organization is interested in hosting an event featuring our animals, please contact us for details.
