Bonnet Macaque

Description
Bonnet macaques have a grayish brown back and a well-defined circular cap. The tail is two-thirds the length of the body. They live in multi-male, multi-female groups with up to 12 males and 15 females. This species defends territories and moves as a cohesive group through the forest. Bonnet macaques often sleep in fig trees near human settlements, as well as tall trees with dense foliage. They are diurnal, and spend their time in the trees and on the ground.
Habitat
Land to dry deciduous forest up to 2134m (7002ft). Bonnet macaques also live near urban areas and temples located in India.
